| Description: Tonight on Will Write for Wine, Lani and Sam discuss structure, even though they’re not really sure what they’re talking about. Plus, they discuss selling out, UPS guys, and Sam’s ass bone. (She’s fine. Don’t worry.) Also, Lani sings (you knew it was going to happen eventually) and Sam suffers in polite silence (the wine helped.) Can we possibly fit in one more parenthetical aside in this description? (You bet!) |

What are we drinking?
Lani had a 2006 Yellow Tail Chardonnay out of Australia.
Wine notes: From winebuyer.com: the wine shows ripe characters of peach and rockmelon, which are striking on the nose. This leads into a fresh and floral front palate where there is an up-front sweetness, adding to the wines` lengthy oak richness.
13.5% alcohol, $6.99.

Sam had a 2006 Mirassou Pinot Noir from CA.
Wine notes: Awaken your sixth sense to this shadowy concoction of spine-tingling intensity. Smoky layers of white pepper, cigar box cedar, and toasty mesquite meld easily with spicy plum, and rich gooseberry.
13.5% alcohol & $8 a bottle.

Shout-outs to:
Sam: Shout-out to the strapping EMTs.
Lani: Announcement-We’ve sold out! Visit My Wines Direct through our banners and support the podcast, plus get the UPS man delivering wine! Bonus!
Listener question:
From Pimp My Mixer Pan: On your last movie night (Romancing the Stone–loved it and the commentary–thanks!), you referenced the mythic structure of the movie. My question is, can you have a story that starts a few steps in to the mythic structure? For example, can you have The Ordinary World, The Call and The Refusal of the Call all take place before page one, or do you lose something by not showing it, however briefly?
We Recommend!
Sam: Homemade Holiday Gifts (stuff)
Lani: Baby, It’s Cold Outside song by Ella Fitzgerald/Louis Jordan and learn classic conflict (music)
This episode’s theme: Structure or at least we think so
Random Etcetera: Killer Word.
Lani: Confabulate
Sam: Halcyon, which Lani got!!
Write In: The week’s progress
Lani: Nothing!
Sam: Fell down the stairs!

Wonderful podcast as always, ladies
I love the variety of examples on structure.
Sam, I just learned how to crochet last month (because NaNo was not enough torture) using youtube and googling for crochet videos. And today, a friend assured me I have to get “The Happy Hooker” (The Stitch and Bitch How to Crochet book). Maybe someday I will actually stop being intimidated by knitting needles…

Podcast was funny and informative as always, but your killer words are too easy! There’s a great site called ‘Free Rice (www.freerice.com)’ that’s a great word site that quizzes your vocabulary skills, is a huge procrastination tool, and feeds the hungry. Check it out!

Egads! mywinesdirect.com doesn’t ship to Michigan. And I was really looking forward to trying it. Sigh. I guess I’ll go to the store and buy my wine.

Lani, since you are doing cheap wines this month I’m going to recommend the Barefoot Chardonnay. They actually have a Website.
Of course, as always, loved the show.

Just wanted to comment about your recommednations!
Lani, I love that song too. My dad used to sing the words “baby,it cold outside!” when he’d come home from work as he came in the door. He’s gone now but I have the memory in the melody.
Sam, I always make homemade presents too but I’m not sure my family appreciates them. I thnk they just think I’m “cheap”!
This year I made trees. You can see them here:
